PRINCIPAIS ALTERAÇÕES DO SISTEMA RESPIRATÓRIO SUPERIOR DE EQUINOS – REVISÃO DE LITERATURA

Resumo

Alterações do sistema respiratório superior são frequentes em equinos e possuem relevância clínica e econômica, pois podem comprometer o desempenho atlético e a qualidade de vida dos animais. O diagnóstico preciso é fundamental para o manejo terapêutico adequado, baseando-se na anamnese, avaliação clínica e exames complementares, sendo a endoscopia um dos principais métodos de escolha para investigação morfofuncional dessas estruturas. Este artigo tem como objetivo abordar as principais alterações encontradas em sistema respiratório superior de equinos, suas características e diagnóstico através de uma revisão de literatura. Entre as alterações mais comumente encontradas estão a hiperplasia folicular linfoide, neuropatia laringeana recorrente, deslocamento dorsal do palato mole, além de alterações em epiglote e bolsa gutural. A compreensão da etiologia, patogenia e manifestações clínicas dessas condições é essencial para que o médico-veterinário selecione a abordagem diagnóstica mais apropriada, favorecendo intervenções terapêuticas assertivas e melhorando o prognóstico. Esta revisão contribui para o aprimoramento do conhecimento técnico e científico na clínica de equinos, sintetizando informações, fornecendo subsídios para o diagnóstico diferencial e o manejo adequado das enfermidades do trato respiratório superior.
